Aces and Kings Solitaire FAQ

Answers to common questions about Aces and Kings Solitaire.

What is Aces and Kings Solitaire?

Aces and Kings is a two-deck solitaire game with 8 foundation piles—4 for Aces building up and 4 for Kings building down. It features 2 reserve piles and a 4-column tableau.

What are the foundation piles in Aces and Kings?

The first 4 foundations build up by suit from Ace to King. The last 4 foundations build down by suit from King to Ace. Each foundation only accepts its designated starting rank.

What is the reserve in Aces and Kings?

The reserve consists of 2 piles of 13 cards each, dealt from a 52-card deck. Only the top card of each reserve pile is playable at any time.

What is the tableau in Aces and Kings?

The tableau has 4 columns, each holding a single face-up card. These empty tableau slots can receive cards from foundations, waste, or reserves.

How does the stock work?

Click the stock to draw one card to the waste pile. Only the top waste card is playable at any time. When the stock is empty, click it to recycle the waste.

Can I move cards from foundations back to the tableau?

Yes, unlike many solitaire games, Aces and Kings allows you to move cards between foundations or from foundations to empty tableau columns.

Can I undo moves?

Yes, Aces and Kings features unlimited undo. Click the undo button to reverse your last move.

How do I win at Aces and Kings?

Move all 104 cards to the 8 foundation piles (4 Aces-up, 4 Kings-down). Foundations build in complete cycles: Aces-up reaches King, Kings-down reaches Ace.

What's the best strategy?

Balance building both Ace and King foundations. Watch for opportunities to move between foundations. Keep tableau columns empty when possible for flexibility.

How is the game set up?

26 cards go to reserves (13 each), 4 cards to the tableau, 1 card to waste, and the remaining 21 to stock. The first card to waste determines which foundation gets which suit.
