Pyramid FAQ

Pyramid Solitaire FAQ

Answers to common questions about Pyramid Solitaire.

What is Pyramid Solitaire?

Pyramid is a solitaire game where you clear a pyramid of 28 cards by pairing them to make 13. Cards that sum to 13 are removed: Ace+Queen, 2+Jack, 3+10, 4+9, 5+8, 6+7, and Kings remove alone.

What cards can I pair in Pyramid?

Valid pairs must sum to 13: Ace(1)+Queen(12), 2+Jack, 3+10, 4+9, 5+8, 6+7. Kings(13) are special—they're removed with a single click since they equal 13 on their own.

What does 'exposed' mean in Pyramid?

An exposed card is one not covered by any other card. Only exposed cards can be selected. Cards at the base of the pyramid are always exposed, and removing pairs exposes the cards beneath.

How does the stock pile work?

Click the stock to draw one card to the waste pile. You can pair waste cards with pyramid cards or with other waste cards. When stock is empty, click it to recycle the waste pile.

Can I pair two waste cards together?

Yes! Unlike some solitaire games, you can pair two cards from the waste pile together if they sum to 13, giving you more flexibility to clear cards.

How do I win at Pyramid?

You win by removing all 28 cards from the pyramid. Keep making pairs that equal 13 to clear the pyramid faster and score more points.

What's the best strategy for Pyramid?

Focus on exposing the lower cards of the pyramid first. Try to pair waste cards with each other to preserve pyramid cards for harder-to-reach pairs. Save Kings for when no other moves remain.

What is a card's value in Pyramid?

Aces count as 1, numbered cards as their face value, Jacks as 11, Queens as 12, and Kings as 13 (which removes by itself).

Can I undo moves in Pyramid?

Yes, Pyramid features unlimited undo. If you make a pairing you regret, click undo to reverse it and try a different combination.

How do I start a new game?

Click the 'New Game' button to shuffle and deal a fresh pyramid. There's no limit to the number of games you can play.
