Crescent Solitaire FAQ
Crescent Solitaire FAQ
Clear answers to the most common questions about playing Crescent Solitaire.
What is Crescent Solitaire?
Crescent Solitaire is a two-deck patience game. Ninety-six cards form sixteen crescent piles around eight foundations, which begin with one Ace and one King of each suit.
How do I move cards between the crescent piles?
Only the exposed top card of a pile can move. Place it on the next higher or lower card of the same suit. Ace and King count as adjacent in the crescent piles, but empty piles cannot be filled.
How do the foundations work?
Four foundations build upward by suit from Ace to King, and four build downward by suit from King to Ace. Foundation sequences do not wrap between King and Ace.
What does reshuffling do in Crescent Solitaire?
A reshuffle moves the bottom card of every non-empty crescent pile to the top. It does not randomly shuffle the cards, and you may use it only three times per game.
When should I use a reshuffle?
First make every useful foundation and tableau move you can find. Reshuffle when the exposed cards no longer produce progress, because each use is limited and changes all sixteen piles at once.
What happens when no moves remain?
If no legal move remains after all three reshuffles are used, the game shows a no-moves message. You can undo to try a different line or begin a new deal.
