About Crescent Solitaire

Crescent Solitaire is a two-deck patience game with sixteen piles curved around eight foundations. Half the foundations build upward from ace to king, while the other half build downward from king to ace.

Only the exposed card of each crescent pile is available. Cards can move between piles when they share a suit and are one rank apart, including king and ace. Plan carefully: you have only three reshuffles, and each one rotates the bottom card of every pile to the top.

How to Play

Goal

Move all 104 cards to the eight foundations. Four foundations build up by suit from Ace to King, and four build down by suit from King to Ace.

Setup

One Ace and one King of each suit begin the foundations. The remaining 96 cards are dealt into sixteen piles of six around them, with only each pile's top card face-up.

Crescent piles

  • Only the exposed top card of a crescent pile can be moved.
  • Move a card onto the next higher or lower card of the same suit. Aces and Kings are adjacent in the crescent piles.
  • An empty crescent pile cannot be filled.

Foundations

Build only by suit and in the direction shown. Foundation sequences do not wrap between Ace and King.

Reshuffles

You may reshuffle three times. Each reshuffle moves the bottom card of every crescent pile to the top; it does not randomize the cards.

Controls

Tap one exposed card and then its destination, drag it, or double-click it to send it to a valid foundation. Use Undo to reverse a move or reshuffle.
