About Mahjong Solitaire

Mahjong Solitaire is a tile-matching game where you remove identical tiles that are free on the sides. The goal is to clear the whole layout without trapping the final pairs.

Look first for matches that release long rows or upper layers. It is often better to delay an obvious pair if another match opens more tiles.

How to Play

Goal

Remove all 144 tiles from the board by matching identical pairs. You win when the board is completely clear.

How to Play

  • Click a tile to select it (it will highlight in gold).
  • Click a second tile with the same symbol to remove both.
  • You can only select free tiles — tiles that are not blocked.

What Is a Free Tile?

A tile is free if nothing is sitting on top of it and it has at least one open side (left or right). Blocked tiles appear darker.

Flower & Season Tiles

The 4 Flower tiles (🀢🀣🀤🀥) and 4 Season tiles (🀦🀧🀨🀩) each have a unique symbol, but any flower matches any other flower, and any season matches any other season.

Tips

  • Think before you match — removing a tile may block tiles underneath.
  • Use the Hint button to highlight a valid matching pair.
  • Prioritise tiles that are blocking the most other tiles.
